Match Made in Charleston

Join us at Peacock Wednesday, February 12th for a dating event unlike any other in Charleston for ages 25-40. Prior to the event or upon arrival, guests will fill out a quick survey on the Matchbox app, developed by psychologists, about what is important to them and in a potential partner.

Matching will be powered by Matchbox. It’s a software that uses relationship science to find your most compatible match at the party. It’s also the same technology behind the Marriage Pact, tradition at 100+ universities that's matched more than half a million people to date.

How it works:

• Upon arrival, you’ll take a matching questionnaire built by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists.
• The Matchbox algorithm will identify your optimal match at the party, based on relationship science, AI, and Nobel Prize-winning economics.
• After mingling with the whole group, matches are revealed!

• The matching process is highly intentional—come with an open mind!
• If your match isn’t love at first sight, that’s okay! The algorithm is designed for long-term compatibility, so at baseline, you’ll be values-aligned.

Event Structure:

• This event is highly intentional and the matching will proceed on schedule. Please be on time.
• 7:00pm—the event begins, bar opens
• 7:30pm—doors close, The Algorithm begins computing matches
• 8:00pm—a series of clues
• 8:30pm—matches revealed
• 10:00pm—event concludes

FAQs:

Q: What age range is the event for? A: This event is for mid-twenties to late-thirties.

Q: What is your refund policy? A: We need to balance the party, and that involves planning! So no refunds can be granted within 7 days of the event, although in rare cases we may be able to extend a credit to a future event.

Q: What if I don't get a match? A: We aim to maintain a 50/50 male to female ratio but cannot guarantee that all attendees will show up, as life happens. If there is an uneven split, some matches will be paired platonically. These people receive a free ticket to a future event of their choice, valid for 180 days after this event.
